To begin, identify the critics. There are two major kinds. Self-criticism and the antagonistic third party. Let’s start with the third-party opponent.
These are the individuals who are crucial in our life, such as lovers, family, bosses, friends, and teachers. These people have the power to undermine our self-esteem. It is normal to receive some criticism now and again. And if it troubles you, here are four solutions. But nothing is worse than someone constantly putting you down or criticizing you. Here are three possible responses.
Self-criticism. Work on identifying and confronting your inner critic. We all have an inner critic who picks us apart and points out our flaws. It’s natural to let our internal critic triumph from time to time, but if we do it too often, it learns to believe it’s correct! You start to mistrust yourself.
When you hear that dark murmur grow louder with critiques, pause for a moment. Remind yourself that money, job title, appearance, or the amount of social media followers have nothing to do with how good or important you are. Consider if you would say something to a friend. If you wouldn’t say it to someone else, don’t say it to yourself.
